Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is set to fortify its fleet and enhance its operational capabilities through a significant leasing agreement with Air Lease Corporation (ALC). The leasing contract involves the acquisition of five Boeing aircraft, including four new Boeing 737 Max 8 and one Boeing 737-800. This strategic move aligns with RAM’s commitment to modernization, improved service quality, and environmental responsibility.

The long-term lease contracts, announced by Air Lease Corporation, will see the delivery of the five Boeing aircraft to Royal Air Maroc in 2024. According to ALC, these aircraft are sourced directly from Boeing’s own order book, ensuring their quality and reliability.

Steven F. Udvar-Házy, Executive Chairman of Air Lease Corporation, expressed his enthusiasm for the lease placement, stating, “ALC is pleased to announce this lease placement for five Boeing 737 aircraft with Royal Air Maroc. We look forward to building our long-term relationship with RAM as they continue to modernize their fleet and grow their network, as well as maximize their competitive advantage with the most fuel-efficient aircraft in the market.”

Abdelhamid Addou, Chief Executive Officer of Royal Air Maroc, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the significance of this agreement for the airline. “Through this agreement with esteemed partners as ALC, Royal Air Maroc will receive additional aircraft that will strengthen and modernize our operational fleet, enabling us to consistently enhance the quality of service for our customers, while also reducing our carbon footprint in line with our environmental commitment,” Addou stated.

This leasing initiative aligns seamlessly with RAM’s overarching vision to establish itself as a global airline and modernize its operations in line with industry advancements. By adding new Boeing 737 Max 8 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its fleet, RAM aims to enhance its operational efficiency while also providing passengers with a superior travel experience.

As RAM continues to invest in the latest aviation technologies and advanced aircraft, its position in the African and global aviation market is strengthened. With the upcoming addition of these five Boeing aircraft, Royal Air Maroc remains firmly on track to realizing its ambitious growth plans and delivering exceptional air travel experiences to its passengers.
