Airbus delivered 793 commercial aircraft to 91 customers worldwide in 2025, marking a 4% increase over the 766 jets handed over the previous year and confirming the company’s steady upward trajectory despite persistent supply-chain challenges.

The Toulouse-based manufacturer also secured exactly 1,000 gross orders (889 net) from 57 customers, reinforcing strong demand across its product portfolio. By the end of December 2025, Airbus’s overall order backlog reached a new year-end record of 8,754 aircraft, including an all-time high of 1,124 widebody jets.

The performance delivered another healthy book-to-bill ratio above one, meaning new orders once again outpaced deliveries. The result reflects continued airline appetite for fuel-efficient narrowbodies and long-range widebodies as carriers pursue fleet modernisation and network expansion in a post-pandemic travel environment that remains robust.

Deliveries by aircraft family in 2025 were as follows:

  • A320 Family: 607 aircraft
  • A220 Family: 93 aircraft
  • A350 Family: 57 aircraft
  • A330 Family: 36 aircraft

The A320neo family continued to account for the lion’s share of output, underlining its position as the market’s preferred single-aisle workhorse. The A220 programme posted the strongest relative growth, with deliveries rising 24% year-on-year as the smaller jet attracted additional operators for regional and short-to-medium-haul routes.

Widebody activity remained steady, with new customers and repeat business for both the A330neo and the A350. Several landmark first deliveries took place during the year, including additional A321XLR aircraft—the longest-range single-aisle jet in production and more A350-1000s, which are increasingly popular on high-capacity, long-haul services.

The record backlog now represents more than a decade of production at current rates and provides Airbus with exceptional visibility. Orders spanned the full product range: 656 for the A320 family, 49 for the A220, 193 for the A350, 100 for the A330neo and two A330 Multi Role Tanker Transports (MRTT) for military customers.

Airbus highlighted that 2025 saw success in both competitive single-aisle campaigns and widebody selections, with new and returning customers across all major regions. The company also welcomed several first-time operators for newer models, further broadening the global footprint of its newer-generation aircraft.

While supply-chain constraints particularly on engines and certain cabin systems continued to influence production pacing, Airbus managed to maintain delivery momentum and achieve its revised target of around 790 aircraft for the year.

Full financial results for 2025, including detailed profitability figures and updated guidance, will be published on 19 February 2026.
