Royal Air Maroc, the Moroccan national airline, has announced its readiness to ensure the 2023 Umrah and Hajj season is successful for Moroccan pilgrims. The airline has mobilized its resources, including human and material resources, to ensure a comfortable journey for the pilgrims traveling to the Holy Places in Jeddah and Medina from several Moroccan airports.
The airline has scheduled 28,000 seats for its Ramadan Umrah operation, which runs from March 18 to May 4. The seats will be available on flights operated by Royal Air Maroc’s planes as well as a chartered jumbo jet with a capacity of 436 seats. The direct flights will operate from Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Oujda, Fez, Marrakech, and Agadir airports, bound for Jeddah and Medina.
For Operation Hajj 2023, which will take place from June 2 to July 22, Royal Air Maroc has scheduled a capacity of 33,000 seats on 54 flights operated by its planes and two chartered jumbo jets with an average capacity of 350 seats each. The airline has chartered three additional jumbo jets from internationally renowned companies to reinforce its fleet, with the latest generation aircraft selected according to the safety and comfort criteria imposed by Royal Air Morocco.
In addition to reinforcing its fleet, Royal Air Maroc has set up a special reinforcement system to assist Moroccan pilgrims and facilitate their transportation procedures. The airline has strengthened its human resources, particularly at Moroccan airports, as well as in Mecca, Jeddah, and Medina, at the level of airports and hotels, to ensure a smooth and successful pilgrimage for Moroccan pilgrims.
The Moroccan air traffic has been soaring, and Royal Air Maroc has been making efforts to meet the increasing demand. The airline’s focus on providing a comfortable and safe journey for its passengers has made it the preferred airline for many pilgrims traveling to the Holy Places.
Meanwhile, EgyptAir, Egypt’s national carrier, has also launched a series of flights for 3,200 Moroccan pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia to perform the Umrah rituals this year.
