Proflight Zambia, Zambia’s leading regional airline, has relaunched its direct route from Lusaka to Durban, South Africa, starting in April 2023.
This marks the second international destination in South Africa to be serviced by the airline. Proflight Zambia will be operating flights on Thursdays starting from April 6, Sundays from April 16, and a special Tuesday flight on April 11 for Easter weekend returns. On other days, flights will be available to Durban via Johannesburg.
The Lusaka to Durban route was temporarily suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, but the airline has since followed health and safety measures to ensure the safety of passengers.
Proflight Zambia’s Director of Flight Operations, Captain Josias Walubita, stated that the relaunch of the route was a testament to the airline’s commitment to growth and regional expansion. The airline believes that this expansion will provide customers with access to two major commercial centers in South Africa – Johannesburg and now Durban.
Proflight Zambia will be using its CRJ-100 and CRJ-200 aircraft to service the route, offering passengers comfortable travel options. Flights will depart from Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka at 9:00 AM, arriving at King Shaka International Airport in Durban at 11:30 AM. The return flight will leave Durban at 12:30 PM and arrive in Lusaka at 3:00 PM.
