Vistara, India’s private airline, has announced its latest addition to its expanding global network: direct flights to Mauritius.
Commencing on March 26, 2023, the airline will operate five weekly flights between Mumbai and the scenic island nation. The flights will be operated using Vistara’s latest acquisition, the Airbus A321LR (Long Range) aircraft.
As the only airline to offer the choice of Premium Economy class on the Mumbai-Mauritius route, in addition to Business and Economy class, Vistara is poised to offer its customers a world-class product and thoughtful services. With a maximum take-off weight of 97 tonnes and the third auxiliary centre fuel tank, the A321LR has a range of up to 4000NM, making it the perfect choice for this route.
Mauritius is a popular tourist destination as well as an important business hub, home to many global financial institutions. The new direct flight will further aid the growing traffic between India and Mauritius and strengthen the cultural, trade and bilateral relations between the two countries.
Vistara will face competition from Air Mauritius on this route, which operates an A330neo widebody with Economy and Business Class seating. However, the airline’s CEO, Mr. Vinod Kannan, is confident that travelers will appreciate the airline’s world-class product and thoughtful services on this route.
“We are delighted to announce the addition of Mauritius, the scenic island country, to our constantly expanding global network. Besides being a popular tourist destination, the Republic of Mauritius is an important business hub and home to many global financial institutions. Given the strong cultural ties, trade and bilateral relations between India and Mauritius, this new route will further aid the growing traffic between the two countries. We are confident that travellers will appreciate our world-class product and thoughtful services on this route along with convenient, direct access to and from the island nation,” Mr Vinod Kannan, Chief Executive Officer, Vistara, said.
