AFRAA has announced that the Secretary General of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA), Abdérahmane Berthé, met with EgyptAir Holding Company Chairman, Yehia Zakaria on February 5th in Cairo, Egypt.
The meeting was part of the “AFRAA Member Airline CEOs Leadership Dialogues,” an initiative that provides a platform for communication and exchange of ideas between the leadership of AFRAA and its member airlines.
During the meeting, Berthé and Zakaria discussed EgyptAir’s plans and strategic direction, opportunities for intra-African routes, and the implementation of the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM). Berthé praised EgyptAir, one of the founding members of AFRAA since 1968, for its continued support of the organization.
The CEO Dialogues are a year-round series of meetings aimed at improving cooperation between the decision-makers of member airlines and AFRAA leadership. AFRAA’s actions are based on five pillars, including safe and secure air transport, sustainable air transport, cooperation, visibility and influence of African airlines, and data intelligence.
Berthé expressed his excitement for the continued relationship between AFRAA and EgyptAir, stating that the CEO Dialogues have helped AFRAA better understand the individual needs of member airlines and tailor specific actions that enhance the relevance of the association.
