AerCap Holdings, the leading global aircraft leasing company, has announced the signing of lease agreements with Africa’s ASKY, for two used Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft. ASKY, headquartered in Togo, is set to receive the aircraft between June and August 2023.
The announcement ceremony, attended by prominent figures in the aviation industry, including ASKY’s CEO Esayas W. HAILU, AerCap’s CEO Aengus Kelly, Ethiopian Airlines Group’s Board Chairman and Aviation Advisor to Togo Mr. Girma Wake, ASKY’s board members, and other distinguished guests, marked a significant milestone in the collaboration between the two companies.
AerCap’s CEO, Aengus Kelly, expressed his delight in welcoming ASKY as a new customer and specifically highlighted the importance of placing the first Boeing 737-8 MAX in Togo. With 14 airline customers on the African continent, AerCap holds the distinction of being the largest lessor in Africa. Kelly emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting the growth and development of African aviation and extended his best wishes to the ASKY team.
