ASKY Signs Lease Agreements with AerCap for Boeing 737-8 MAX Aircraft

AerCap Holdings, the leading global aircraft leasing company, has announced the signing of lease agreements with Africa’s ASKY, for two used Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft. ASKY, headquartered in Togo, is set to receive the aircraft between June and August 2023.

The announcement ceremony, attended by prominent figures in the aviation industry, including ASKY’s CEO Esayas W. HAILU, AerCap’s CEO Aengus Kelly, Ethiopian Airlines Group’s Board Chairman and Aviation Advisor to Togo Mr. Girma Wake, ASKY’s board members, and other distinguished guests, marked a significant milestone in the collaboration between the two companies.

AerCap’s CEO, Aengus Kelly, expressed his delight in welcoming ASKY as a new customer and specifically highlighted the importance of placing the first Boeing 737-8 MAX in Togo. With 14 airline customers on the African continent, AerCap holds the distinction of being the largest lessor in Africa. Kelly emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting the growth and development of African aviation and extended his best wishes to the ASKY team. He also expressed his enthusiasm for working closely with ASKY as the new aircraft are delivered.

The CEO of ASKY, Esayas W. HAILU, considered it an honor to introduce state-of-the-art Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft into the ASKY fleet. The addition of these advanced aircraft will significantly contribute to ASKY’s wide regional network as the airline strives to provide exceptional service to its valued customers. HAILU expressed his confidence that the incorporation of the Boeing 737-8 MAX would enhance ASKY’s brand image and solidify its position as a leading airline in the region.
