LATAM is already selling tickets for the resumption of its flights on the route between São Paulo and Johannesburg.
The flights scheduled to begin in August 3, 2023, will operate three times a week, with departures from São Paulo on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and from Johannesburg on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The route will be operated on Boeing 787-9 aircraft with a capacity for 300 passengers (30 in Premium Business class and 270 in Economy class).
Flight LA-8858 takes off from Guarulhos at 17:25 and arrives in Johannesburg at 08:10 the next day. The return flight, LA8859, leaves the South African city at 12:45 p.m. and arrives in Brazil at 7:00 p.m.
The airline announced on Oct. 9 it will resume its scheduled commercial operations connecting Johannesburg and Brazil suspended following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
LATAM will have no direct competitor between this line although Angola’s TAAG Angola Airlines will connect the southern Africa region thanks to a Codeshare and an interline agreement with Iberia whose network spans Latin America.
