Angola and Spain have strengthened their bilateral relations with the two countries signing an agreement to work closer together in the area of air transport. As a result Angola’s national airline, TAAG Angola and Spain’s Iberia will benefit from both codeshare and interline partnerships between the two carriers starting on July 27.
“The partnership allows TAAG passengers originating in Luanda and arriving in Madrid to access the entire Iberia network, specifically in Europe and America, with a single ticket, which adds up to more than 100 destinations in 43 countries,” said Luís José, head of communications for TAAG Angola
Passengers arriving in the African country from Madrid and Europe will also have access to the national and international destinations flown to by TAAG
According to José, flights will be operated twice a week by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, with a capacity of 293 seats.
Madrid will be the tenth international destination for TAAG, which already has flights to Lisbon (Portugal), Johannesburg and Cape Town (South Africa), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Windhoek (Namibia), Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo), Maputo (Mozambique), Lagos (Nigeria) and São Tomé (Sao Tomé and Príncipe).
Iberia previously served the Angola – Spain route between 2011 and 2016
