Madagascar Airlines is looking to purchase Embraer aircraft as part of its new fleet plans.
The airline is a reincarnation of the troubled state-owned carrier, air Madagascar which had to go through a court-appointed restructuring process after accumulating losses of around $80 million
Embraer flew its E190-E2 with the tech-shark livery to the treasure island for a demonstration flight which took place on 25 February according to local media. The flight from departed Antananarivo, Madagasar’s capital, to Antsiranana, a city north of the country, and back to Antananarivo.
According to Embraer, the E190-E2 has the ability to transport up to 110 passengers to a range of over 5,200km. The E2 consumes 20% less fuel per seat than its predecessor type.
