‘Bomb Threat’ Disrupts Ghana’s Kotoka International Airport

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) have begun investigations into alleged bomb threat at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra on Tuesday.

A statement issued by the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) said at around 9pm on 28 December, “an unattended [to] bag was sighted at the arrival hall of Terminal 3” at the international airport.

Members of the Base Ammunition Depot Unit remained on scene at the airport to determine whether or not there was any sort of explosive in the airport.

The statement read, “The Base Ammunition Depot Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces was immediately brought in to conduct preliminary assessment of the bag and its contents. The bag was subsequently taken away for further investigations, the outcome of which will be made public.”
