ASKY has begun installing wifi technology on its Boeing 737 fleet of aircraft. To achieve this, ASKY announced it has partnered with communications company IFE solutions, which will supply and maintain the necessary technology.
IFE Solutions wifi equipment will be installed on all 10 Boeing 737s, with the schedule installation commencing on November 6, 2021, and introduced on the airline’s intra-Africa network.
The technology rollout provides comprehensive and engaging content catalogue consisting of Hollywood movies, popular TV shows, local African programs/documentaries, drama, music, and games on board all ASKY aircraft.
“Introducing such an innovative inflight entertainment system on board our aircraft is something we are very excited about, which gives us the opportunity to enrich our passengers’ experience and engage with them in a more tailored and personal manner while they fly with us,” the airline announced.
“This falls within our continuous efforts and promise to work permanently on enhancing the services and improve on our customer delivery experience to our esteemed passengers,” noted the airline.
ASKY is a 100% privately owned airline created by regional banking institutions in Africa that includes The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), The West African Development Bank (BOAD) and ECOBANK Group (ETI) in partnership with Ethiopian Airlines as its strategic partner.
The Pan-African airline currently operates a fleet of ten aircraft: five (5) Boeing 737-800s and five (5) Boeing 737-700s, serving twenty-five (25) cities in twenty-two (22) countries within Africa.
