Low cost carrier, Ryanair, the largest airline in Europe, has announced the opening of a new base in Agadir, Morocco, bringing to 3 the total number of Ryanair bases in the North African country
The agreement was signed by the director general of the Moroccan National Tourist office (ONMT) and the CEO of Ryanair, Eddie Wilson during an event in the City of Taghazout, about 20kms from Agadir.
The new base at Agadir Al Massira airport will be serviced by two Boeing 737 aircraft.
Ryanair has committed to making an investment of $ 200 million as well as the addition of 16 new routes connecting Agadir to seven European countries this winter 2021/2022, increasing the appeal of Agadir as a leading tourist destination.
The airline projects that the new total of 25 routes with 55 flight departures every week will also inspire the direct creation of 60 new jobs
“Ryanair has been a long-time partner of the Morocco destination and plays a key role in our system aimed at increasing point-to-point air connections between the kingdom and the world,” said Adel El Fakir, general manager of ONMT.
With 25 destinations to choose from, passengers can book a well-deserved winter getaway, traveling at the lowest fares and with the option to take advantage of no change fees at Ryanair when changing plans
