Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has announced its plan for an exceptional summer season, in line with the promising recovery in business travel and tourism.

The Moroccan national airline will offer over 6.2 million seats on more than 90 destinations across four continents. The summer offer has seen a significant increase, following the restoration of almost all routes that were suspended during the health crisis and the opening of new lines in 2022, such as Tel Aviv, Dubai, Seville, and Porto.

RAM has covered almost 95% of its 2019 network, which is a significant achievement given the challenging circumstances the aviation industry has faced over the past two years.

RAM will deploy more than 2.3 million seats on the European continent, connecting 11 Moroccan airports to 34 European airports with 902 weekly flights. The airline will offer nearly 500,000 seats in North America, 6% more than the pre-pandemic summer of 2019, and strengthen its African network, which will increase to 26 air routes with an offer of 901,800 seats. RAM will also offer 200,000 seats on its Middle Eastern routes, an increase of 25% compared to the summer 2019 offer.

The routes linking Morocco to Europe will benefit from an exceptional program, with Royal Air Maroc strengthening the ten regular air routes linking Tangier, Nador, and Oujda to European cities. During the summer period, the Moroccan company will offer six new direct airlines linking these three cities to Europe, especially to cities with a large community of Moroccans around the world.

The company will schedule three additional direct lines linking Tangier to Madrid, Barcelona, and London. It will also set up two direct links linking Nador to Madrid and Barcelona, and an additional direct air route will connect Oujda to Düsseldorf.

Furthermore, the lines connecting Casablanca to Barcelona, Bologna, Malaga, Madrid, Brussels, and Milan will increase to two daily flights to cater to the large communities of Moroccans around the world and experience strong demand in summer.

To ensure the launch of this summer program under the best conditions, Royal Air Maroc will charter six additional aircraft to strengthen its fleet. The entire summer offer is already available for sale.

Hamid Addou, CEO of RAM, said, “Succeeding this 2023 summer season in conditions of operational efficiency and quality of service is a major challenge for all of Royal Air Maroc’s driving forces, at a time when our sector of activity is regaining a very positive dynamic. And we are giving ourselves the means to meet the expectations of all our categories of customers in all of our markets, both quantitatively, through a massive increase in injected capacity, and qualitatively through an ever-improving customer experience.”

The exceptional summer program announced by Royal Air Maroc is an indication of the aviation industry’s gradual recovery from the pandemic. The increase in the summer offer and the strengthening of the fleet are commendable efforts by the airline, which aims to cater to the needs of its customers in all markets. The announcement is sure to be well-received by RAM’s customers, particularly those with a large community of Moroccans worldwide, who will benefit from the increased flights and direct routes.
