The Tanzania government through its ministry of works and transport is seeking a public-private partnership for commercial infrastructure development at the country’s main gateway, Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA)
According to the East African, the Tanzania Airports Authority is inviting applications for the development of a commercial complex which will include a four-star hotel. The winning applications will be invited to bid for tenders later this year

Airports Council International has cautioned the global aviation community on the need for infrastructure development and investment to meet the long-term needs of the industry well beyond the pandemic
According to the East African, the winning bidders for the JNIA project are expected to design and build the facilities, while the Tanzania Airports Authority will finance, operate and maintain them.
A notice to prospective investors reads: “It is expected that this project will give our customers and passengers a wider choice and better range of services that meet their satisfaction while also assisting Tanzania Airports Authority to generate more revenue aimed at improving airport services”
