British Airways
British Airways is set to increase its flight frequency between Cape Town International Airport (CTIA) and London Heathrow for the 2024-2025 summer season. Starting 1 November 2024, the airline will offer additional daily services, increasing its total weekly flights to 21 by 11 January 2025. This move provides passengers with more flexibility and options for their trips between South Africa and the UK.
In addition to the Heathrow services, British Airways will run a three-week seasonal route from London Gatwick between 14 December 2024 and 8 January 2025, further boosting travel options during the busy holiday season.
Norse Atlantic Airways
Norse Atlantic Airways will launch a new affordable service between London Gatwick and Cape Town. Beginning on 28 October 2024, the seasonal service will operate three times a week—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Furthermore, Airlink plans to begin direct flights from Cape Town to Gaborone, Botswana, starting 1 April 2025.
ACSA’s Role in Regional and International Connectivity
ACSA is committed to enhancing regional and international connectivity through these new routes and additional flights. The increase in flight frequencies is expected to contribute to the company’s efforts to recover to pre-COVID-19 levels of operation. By providing more flexible travel options, ACSA aims to strengthen economic, cultural, and tourism links, particularly between South Africa and key global markets like the United Kingdom.
ACSA continues to explore new route opportunities to support regional integration and provide better services to passengers, ensuring seamless travel experiences for all.
