South African low-cost carrier FlySafair has been recognized as the most punctual airline in the Middle East and Africa for 2024, achieving an impressive on-time arrival rate of 93.82%.
This accolade comes from aviation analytics firm Cirium, which monitors over 600 real-time information sources to assess airline performance. Cirium defines an on-time flight as one that arrives within 15 minutes of its scheduled time.
FlySafair’s achievement is particularly notable given the competitive landscape, outperforming major carriers such as Qatar Airways, Etihad, and Emirates in the region. The airline maintained its punctuality across more than 57,000 flights throughout the year, leading the regional rankings in 11 out of 12 months.
In the global context, Mexico’s AeroMexico secured the top spot with an 86.7% on-time arrival rate, followed closely by Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) at 86.35%. FlySafair’s performance not only led its region but also stood out on the international stage, surpassing many global airlines in punctuality.
