FlyNamibia is once again taking flight with a groundbreaking announcement. In a move that promises to be a game-changer in regional travel, FlyNamibia has unveiled its latest route, linking the vibrant cities of Windhoek, Walvis Bay, and Cape Town.
Commencing on October 29, 2023, FlyNamibia’s new route will operate flights every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Departing from the Hosea Kutako International Airport (HKIA), the flight will first touch down in the enchanting city of Cape Town (CPT). From there, it will seamlessly continue to Walvis Bay (WVB) before looping back to Hosea Kutako International Airport, again stopping at Walvis Bay, then heading south to Cape Town, and finally returning to its Namibian starting point. This innovative route design not only opens up unprecedented opportunities for explorers but also ensures that Walvis Bay enjoys renewed access to Windhoek.

FlyNamibia’s strategic flight schedule offers flexibility to both business and leisure travelers, promising an exciting way to discover the breathtaking landscapes, rich cultures, and economic prospects that Windhoek, Walvis Bay, and Cape Town have to offer.
Andrè Compion, the Managing Director of FlyNamibia, expressed the airline’s enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited to introduce this new route, which underscores FlyNamibia’s commitment to expanding our network and enhancing travel options for our passengers. We believe this route will not only serve the needs of our valued customers but also contribute to the growth and development of our country and the region.”
Furthermore, FlyNamibia is not only launching an exciting new route but also celebrating its recent induction into the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as a new member.
On September 19, FlyNamibia revealed its membership in IATA, marking a significant milestone. This achievement is a testament to the airline’s dedication to excellence and safety, and it’s a step forward in aligning with global aviation standards.
The key to this milestone is FlyNamibia’s successful completion of the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), a rigorous evaluation that sets a high bar for airline safety and operational standards. Membership in IATA is a prestigious recognition, and FlyNamibia’s entrance into this esteemed association reaffirms its commitment to safety and quality.
