In a move to bolster both business and leisure travel, Fastjet Zimbabwe has announced an augmentation of flight frequencies from Bulawayo’s JM Nkomo International Airport to Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport.
With this strategic expansion, the existing daily service between Bulawayo and Johannesburg will transform into a remarkable 12 weekly flights, establishing a comprehensive range of travel options. The reinstatement of a morning service stands as a significant enhancement, delivering a variety of frequencies and increased travel flexibility for passengers traversing these two bustling cities.
Nunurai Ndawana, spokesperson for Fastjet Zimbabwe, expressed, “The wait is over, and we are delighted our passengers will now enjoy a heightened level of service unlocked by the new airport terminal.”
This amplified flight frequency offers travelers from Bulawayo an enticing proposition, as Nunurai Ndawana further explains, “Our additional flight frequency will provide a choice to the people from the city of Bulawayo with the convenience of a day’s return trip to Johannesburg.”
Vivian Ruwuya, Chief Commercial Officer of Fastjet Zimbabwe, reiterated the company’s commitment to connectivity and shared insights into the strategic significance of this expansion, saying, “As a proud Zimbabwean airline, we remain committed to connectivity. We are delighted to offer 12 weekly flights from Bulawayo to Johannesburg. These extra frequencies will greatly enhance the flexibility we offer. It will allow for a genuine day trip for the South African on business whilst also offering a similar opportunity for the Zimbabwean traveller.”
Ruwuya also emphasized the tailored service offerings, stating, “By selecting the best of our new fare families to suit the traveller’s requirements, these new flights will greatly enhance the products we offer at Fastjet.”
The newly introduced flights are now available for booking. Commencing from October 30, 2023, the schedule will encompass daily flights except Saturdays. Departing Johannesburg’s OR Tambo at 06:50am and arriving at Bulawayo at 08:10am, the morning departure is aimed at accommodating both business and leisure travelers. Departures from Bulawayo will be at 08:50am, arriving in Johannesburg at 10:10am. It’s important to note that these additional flights augment the existing daily evening return rotations between the two destinations.
