Airlink Expands Fleet with Lease of Three Embraer E195 Aircraft from AerCap

Airlink, the largest regional airline in Southern Africa, has announced a lease agreement with AerCap Holdings for three used Embraer E195-E1 aircraft, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s growth strategy. The first aircraft was delivered in March, while the remaining two are scheduled to join Airlink’s fleet in July 2023.

Peter Anderson, Chief Commercial Officer of AerCap, expressed his delight at welcoming Airlink as a new customer and emphasized the company’s commitment to a long and successful partnership. “We wish all the team at Airlink every success and look forward to working with them for many years to come,” said Anderson.

Airlink, which is on a steady growth path, views this lease agreement as a vital step in expanding its network, schedule, and market share. By partnering with AerCap, the airline aims to maintain its upward trajectory and capitalize on the efficiencies derived from fleet continuity, ultimately enabling it to provide greater value and affordable air travel to its customers.

Rodger Foster, CEO and Managing Director of Airlink, expressed gratitude for AerCap’s support in this significant fleet expansion. “The efficiencies derived from continuity across our fleet will help us contain costs and continue providing great value and affordable air travel to our customers,” Foster stated.

The Embraer E195-E1 aircraft, known for their reliability and performance, will enhance Airlink’s operational capabilities and support the airline’s mission to provide convenient and efficient regional air travel within Southern Africa. These aircraft are well-suited for Airlink’s regional routes, offering a comfortable and seamless travel experience for passengers.
