Aviators Africa has taken a step towards institutionalizing its platform towards the development of African aviation by appointing an advisory board and award committee. The move is geared towards strengthening its resolve to promote credible and transparent recognition, awards and celebration of excellence in African Aviation.
The newly appointed board members have distinguished themselves in African aviation with invaluable experience spanning several decades. Among them are Capt. Gilbert Kibe, Chamsou Andjorin, Boni Dibate, Candy Kosonkomona, Sean Mendis, James O’Shea, Deshni Nadar, and Alex Nwuba. Their wealth of experience is expected to provide the platform for the development of African aviation.
The Aviators Africa Conference, now renamed the African Aviation Sustainability Conference (AASC), is in its fifth year and has carved a niche for itself with a conference platform focused on sustainability. AASC seeks to be the pioneer platform in the aviation sector that drives economic and environmental sustainability in African aviation. It aims to bring airlines and aviation businesses together to help start-ups, emerging and existing airlines become sustainable in the long term by drawing skilled resources from the value chain in the sector.
The Tower Awards, now known as Aviators Africa Awards, is part of the platform’s goal to recognize and celebrate excellence in African Aviation. The Aviators Africa Awards is a credible and transparent platform that promotes deserving individuals and brands in the aviation sector. The Aviators Africa Awards seeks to build a pan African award institution that the aviation sector can be proud of as a hallmark.
The fifth edition of the African Aviation Sustainability Conference and Aviators Africa Awards will be held from 28th – 30th September 2023 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The conference aims to bring together aviation professionals, investors, and other stakeholders in the industry to discuss sustainable solutions for African aviation. The conference will provide a platform for exhibitors to showcase innovative products and services that promote sustainability in African aviation.
