Following the signing of the codeshare agreement announced in May this year, Spanish national carrier Iberia and TAAG Angola will start operating flights between Madrid and Luanda under said agreement on October 13.
Beginning tomorrow Oct. 13, Iberia will begin to display IB-coded flight numbers on following TAAG’s service beyond Luanda including Luanda – Cape Town, Luanda – Johannesburg, Luanda – Windhoek.
On the other hand, TAAG passengers will be able to connect with Iberia flights from Madrid to Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Geneva, Milan, Porto, Rome and Zurich.
TAAG Angola Airlines inaugurated its service between the two capitals at the end of June, which operates twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays from Luanda (LAD) and on Mondays and Fridays from Madrid (MAD), on Boeing 777-3ooER aircraft with 12 seats in First, 56 in Business and 225 in Economy. The Spanish capital, Madrid was also TAAG’s first new European destination in more than a decade. The Angolan carrier also has a presence in Portugal with 13 weekly flights to Lisbon.
The partnership reinforces Iberia’s presence in the continent currently offering 44 weekly flights. The Spanish flag carrier flies to Algiers, Casablanca, Dakar, Nador, Marrakech, Tangier, and Tetouan.
