Full restoration of its 2019 network is within sight for Reunion-based carrier Air Austral which is restoring its entire pre-COVID flight network for winter 2022/2023 on both medium-haul and long-haul.
For the winter season from October 30, 2022, to March 25, 2023, the company based at Saint Denis-Roland Garros airport intends to reach “a 100% coverage rate ” of the offer before the health crisis, with in particular the resumption from November 2 of flights to Rodrigues (1 flight per week, Wednesday in ATR 72-600) and those between Pierrefonds and Mauritius (2X-weekly on Wednesday and Saturday), in this case “with the agreement of its reference shareholder SUMATRA”.
In addition, its flight program to Asia will be maintained, with up to two weekly frequencies between Reunion and Chennai in India, then Bangkok in Thailand. Air Austral will thus again have a complete network of 17 destinations in the Indian Ocean, a flight program “likely to evolve and remaining subject to obtaining the required government authorizations”.
Air Austral will offer on the long-haul “minimum one daily flight” between Saint-Denis and Paris, and “up to seven weekly flights” between Dzaoudzi and Charles de Gaulle airport.
