One of Uganda Airlines’ A330-800neo aircraft with registration code 5X-NIL flew all the way from Entebbe (EBB) to Seattle (SEA) with the plane making a stop at Keflavik (KEF).
The flight that happened on Thursday, Feb 3, saw Uganda Airlines fly from EBB to KEF in a flight time of 10hr42min and later re-embarking on its journey on Friday, Feb 4, from KEF to SEA in a flight time of 7hr28min.
While the airline hasn’t disclosed the reason for the flight, it has been revealed that Uganda’s speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanya, who was last seen in public in december, was the special passenger flown to seattle for specialized treatment. The flight was assigned flight number UR2 instead of the usual UR4XX range.
This was the first time a Uganda Airlines plane flew to the United States. The airline operates a young fleet of two Airbus A330-800neos and four Bombardier CRJ-900ERs.
