RwandAir on Monday announced plans to temporarily suspend its Dubai route due to the rising COVID-19 cases.
The development comes amid a surge of infections in the UAE, posing a direct challenge to the mass testing regime that has been the pillar of the country’s coronavirus response and economic reopening.
Dubai was one of the world’s first destinations to open up to tourists, welcoming visitors from anywhere with only a coronavirus test.
RwandAir also recently announced the resumption of daily services to Southern Africa, including Johannesburg and Lusaka, effective December 23.
