German based airline and ticketing solutions provider Hahn Air, has signed an interline agreement with Uganda Airlines.
The Hahn Air innovative product will now be accessible to Uganda Airlines, allowing the airline’s tickets to be sold in markets where it would ordinary be impossible without membership to the local Billing and settlement Plan (BSP). BSP is a central point which consolidates ticket data and payments made by travel agents in a region or country. The interline agreement effectively expands Uganda Airlines’ distribution reach
Travel agents can sell Uganda Airlines tickets under its ‘UR’ code from leading Global Distribution Systems Amadeus and Galileo and issue Hahn Air’ HR-169 ticket which comes complimented by Securtix, Hahn Air’s insolvency protection which ensures that should an airline become insolvent, the passenger will get a refund for the affected part of the ticket
Uganda Airlines currently flies to 10 destinations in Africa including Johannesburg, South Africa. Its fleet consists 4 CRJ900 aircraft and 2 Airbus A330-800NEO
Plans are currently in place for the national airline to serve long-haul destinations including Dubai, London, Mumbai and Guangzhou
