Burkina Faso and the United Arab Emirates have rekindled efforts towards bilateral air transport cooperation
A Burkina Faso delegation led by the Minister of Transport, Urban Mobility and Security, Mr. Vincent Timbindi Dabilgou visited Dubai from June 10 to 11, 2021 as part of renewed efforts to action the bilateral air transport agreement signed in 2015 between Burkina Faso and the UAE
At the time of its signing 6 years ago, the country’s main Airport, Ouagadougou International Airport was not ICAO certified, limiting the implementation of the bilateral agreement to only the transport of Cargo between the 2 countries
Burkina Faso has been re-energized after ICAO certified the international airport last year, 2020 and concluded a positive meeting with the Emirati delegation led by Sheick Majid Al Mualla, Vice-President in charge of international relations and including Adnan Kazim, Commercial Director, Mohamed Riza, commercial manager for Africa, Seed Bin Hafedh, Head of Government Relations.
Both countries have agreed that a team will be sent to Ouagadougou to assess its readiness
