Air Senegal is adding additional frequencies to its popular Dakar-Marseille-Lyon axis facilitating the important movements of passengers during the holiday period.
Between June 28 and September 20, 2022, the Senegalese national carrier will add its fourth rotation between Dakar, the company’s hub, and Marseille and Lyon, France’s second and third largest cities respectively.
The flight will be provided by an Airbus A321 aircraft with a capacity of 165 passengers including 16 seats in Business and 149 seats in Eco with seats going for sale from April 19, 2022.
This flight increase will strengthen and facilitate the connection between Marseille and Lyon, a favored destination for Senegalese, and Dakar.
Ibrahima Kane, CEO of Air Senegal said, “We want to allow as many Senegalese as possible, school children, traders, workers…residents in France, to be able to spend their holidays in Senegal”.

Air Senegal began Dakar – Lyon flights in March 2021, where point-to-point demand alone totaled 40,000 in 2019, booking data reveals.

Lyon flights operate triangularly. The 4,020 km journey from Dakar stops at Marseilles and then flies 255 km North to Lyon’s St. Exupery Airport before continuing to the Senegalese capital.

When Marseille was launched in December 2019, it operated triangularly with Barcelona using A330-900s.
