Air Peace, the largest airline operator in West Africa, has today commissioned its Embraer E195-E2 aircraft into service.

The Nigeria based airline is the launch customer of Embraer’s flagship jet on the African continent

Nicknamed the profit-hunter, the brand-new Embraer 195-E2 has 112 Economy class seats and 12 Business class seats in a new innovative staggered design that offers enhanced comfort. Each of the 12 Business Class seats is slightly offset from the other to give more space and privacy. Airpeace is the global launch customer of the staggered seat option.

The E2 boasts a 20% lower cost per trip and a cost per seat similar to larger aircraft. It is the ideal profile for the African fleet and a perfect tool to lead a recovery of air transport on the continent. Air Peace is deploying the Profit hunter as it embarks on rebuilding its regional network

The carrier has delivered 3 of 13 E2 aircraft on firm order and has purchase rights for a further 17 which would bring its fleet to 30 with purchase rights fully exercised

The E195-E2 aircraft will further help us actualize our ambition of connecting not just the whole of Nigeria, but the entire African continent, while feeding long-haul flights from our Lagos hub. The acquisition will enable us to deliver on our ‘no-city-left-behind’ initiative, which is underpinned by our goal to reduce the air transportation burden of Africans“ – CEO Allen Onyema remarked at the delivery of the airline’s first E95-E2

Embraer is playing a major role in enhancing Africa’s air connectivity with Embraer aircraft forming a part of about 56 different airline fleets across the continent
