Air Seychelles has revealed its new CEO and CFO.
The ministry of transport announced on Wednesday, July 7, that Captain Sandy Benoiton has been appointed as new acting CEO and Tyrian Gendron as acting chief financial officer. They replace outgoing chief executive, Remco Althuis and chief finance officer, Michael Berlouis respectively.
Capt Sandy Benoiton’s airline experience in summary:
- He is a certified pilot
- He held the position of Chief Operations Officer since 2018, overseeing the general operations of the airline
- He has over 20 years of airline experience working with Air Seychelles.
Suffice to say Sandy Benoiton has been a steady part of the airline’s history, he will continue to drive the transformation plan forward to further strengthen business operations amidst the unprecedented environment.
Tyrian Gendron, the new acting CFO joined the Air Seychelles finance team in 2017 and was most recently occupying the role of financial controller.
The certified chartered accountant will be responsible for the management of the airline’s projects and financial systems including the collation of the annual budget.
As part of his new role, the finance professional will also focus on cost management, ensuring continuous implementation of cost benefit initiatives across the business, to further build on the airline’s revenue streams.
Air Seychelles is the main driver of tourism in Seychelles, it is a core pillar of the national economy.
The airline offers international flights to Johannesburg, Mauritius, Mumbai and Tel Aviv as well as charter services on demand. On the domestic network, Air Seychelles operates daily domestic flights between Mahe and Praslin as well as charter services throughout the archipelago.
In 2020, Air Seychelles won the most coveted title of ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline’ at the World Travel Awards. The full service carrier was also recognized as ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline – Business Class’ and ‘Indian Ocean’s Leading Cabin Crew ’at World Travel Awards Indian Ocean Winners Day.
