AirlinePros International has announced its new role as the General Sales Agent (GSA) for Uganda Airlines in Zimbabwe. This partnership coincides with the launch of Uganda Airlines’ direct flights between the Ugandan capital, Entebbe, and Harare, Zimbabwe’s capital, which began on September 25. The move is set to boost Uganda Airlines’ market presence in Zimbabwe and strengthen business and tourism ties between the two nations.
Uganda Airlines operates across 17 destinations in 13 countries, including Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. The introduction of direct flights to Zimbabwe will provide a seamless travel experience for passengers and enhance opportunities for cultural and business exchanges between the two countries.
Shreyas Nanavati, CEO of AirlinePros International, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to represent Uganda Airlines in Zimbabwe. This partnership underscores our commitment to promoting robust airline networks in Africa, and we are excited about the prospects of helping enhance connectivity between Zimbabwe and Uganda. The launch of direct flights from Entebbe to Harare is a milestone that promises great potential for increased travel and trade between the two countries.”
Kuda Mapukute, Chief Commercial Officer of AirlinePros Zimbabwe, highlighted the growing travel demand in the region, saying, “With international departures from Zimbabwe having grown by over 90 percent in 2023, the outbound travel market is on a growth trajectory, fueled by a strong demand for regional travel and direct connectivity.” He added that Uganda Airlines’ new service is well-timed, meeting the increasing demand for efficient and direct travel routes within Southern Africa. With AirlinePros’ GSA support, the new flights are expected to improve travel experiences for Zimbabwean passengers and foster greater regional integration.
