In an exciting development for travelers, LATAM Airlines Brazil has recently signed a unilateral interline agreement with South Africa’s Airlink. This agreement gives LATAM passengers access to the broader network of Airlink, ensuring passengers have enhanced connectivity and a wider range of travel options.

The interline agreement between LATAM and Airlink will come into effect from September 2nd, coinciding with the launch of LATAM’s new Sao Paulo-Johannesburg route. This highly anticipated route will operate three times a week, providing travelers with convenient access between Brazil and South Africa.

LATAM’s Sao Paulo-Johannesburg flights will be operated using Boeing 787-900 aircraft, boasting a capacity of 300 passengers. The spacious cabin layout includes 30 seats in the Premium Business class, 57 in the Premium Economy class, and 213 in the Economy class, ensuring a comfortable journey for all passengers.

By leveraging the interline agreement, passengers will now have the opportunity to seamlessly connect between LATAM and Airlink flights. This means that travelers can book a single itinerary, including flights operated by both airlines, simplifying the travel experience and eliminating the need for multiple bookings.

Director of Sales and Marketing at LATAM Brasil said, the agreement is a way to expand the airline network and bring Brazil and other destinations closer together in a more sustainable way.

“We made our flight to South Africa even more attractive and full of possibilities with this agreement. The new connectivity options from Johannesburg expand the offer to LATAM customers, who will now be able to reach important destinations on the African continent such as Luanda, Nairobi and Cape Town”.
