TAAG Angola Airlines has announced that all its international flight operations will officially move to the new Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (NBJ) beginning Sunday, October 19, 2025. The move marks the completion of a phased transition and a major milestone in Angola’s aviation history, establishing Luanda’s new airport as the country’s central hub for both domestic and international operations.
The relocation consolidates all of TAAG’s flight activities under one roof, allowing the airline to streamline operations, improve fleet management, and deliver a better passenger experience. The transition aligns with the Angolan government’s broader strategy to position Luanda and Icolo & Bengo as key aviation hubs in Southern Africa.
From October 19, all flights departing and arriving from major international destinations including Lisbon, São Paulo, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Lagos, Windhoek, São Tomé, Maputo, and Nairobi, as well as seasonal routes to Porto and Havana, will operate exclusively from the new airport. Domestic routes and regional flights to Brazzaville and Kinshasa have already been relocated to NBJ.
Passengers are advised to plan their trips accordingly and allow sufficient time for check-in and boarding, as the new airport is located on the outskirts of Luanda in Bom Jesus, Icolo, and Bengo Province.
During the transition period, TAAG will provide a dedicated shuttle service between the old 4 de Fevereiro International Airport (AIL) and Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (NBJ) to assist passengers with connecting flights on partner airlines that have not yet transferred their operations. The airline has also pledged to keep travelers informed with regular updates through official communication channels and partner travel agencies.
TAAG’s leadership expressed gratitude to employees, partners, and stakeholders who contributed to ensuring the smooth transition of operations. The move to NBJ represents a significant step forward in modernizing Angola’s aviation infrastructure, enhancing efficiency, and improving international connectivity.
