EGYPTAIR has announced that it will move its U.S. operations to the highly anticipated New Terminal One at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in 2026, marking a strategic milestone in the carrier’s North American growth plan. The relocation will see the airline operate its daily nonstop flights from Cairo to New York out of the state-of-the-art terminal, strengthening its presence in one of the world’s most competitive aviation markets.

For Egypt’s national airline, the move is not just about convenience but about deepening its role as a bridge between Egypt and the world. With Cairo-New York already one of its flagship long-haul routes, EGYPTAIR is positioning itself to attract more travelers seeking direct access to Egypt’s iconic cultural and historical treasures from the Pyramids of Giza to the temples of Luxor.

“We are very pleased to join the New Terminal One at JFK, which represents an important step in our growth strategy. For us, it is not just about transporting passengers, but about connecting cultures, families, and experiences,” said Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR. “As Egypt’s national airline, we look forward to welcoming more travelers to discover the history, beauty, and hospitality of our country through our direct flights to and from New York.”

The relocation aligns with JFK’s $19 billion redevelopment program led by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, aimed at transforming the airport into a world-class hub. The massive project includes:

  • Construction of two brand-new terminals.

  • Expansion and modernization of two existing terminals.

  • A new ground transportation center.

  • A complete redesign of the airport’s access roads.

The New Terminal One, set to be one of the largest and most modern airport facilities in the United States, will provide passengers with an upgraded experience centered on efficiency, comfort, and global connectivity.

EGYPTAIR will join an impressive roster of international carriers confirmed for the New Terminal One, including Air France, KLM, Etihad, LOT Polish Airlines, Korean Air, EVA Air, Air Serbia, SAS, Neos, Philippine Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Air New Zealand, Royal Air Maroc, Air China, China Airlines, Gulf Air, and Qatar Airways.

As a member of Star Alliance, EGYPTAIR becomes the sixth airline from the global network to commit to the new terminal, further solidifying the project’s importance as a central hub for international aviation.

This move is also significant in a broader African aviation context. By securing a place in one of JFK’s flagship projects, EGYPTAIR enhances its visibility in a market increasingly important for African carriers seeking transatlantic growth. The airline’s integration into a facility that will host many of the world’s leading long-haul operators positions Cairo as a stronger gateway between Africa, the Middle East, and North Americ
