Royal Air Maroc, the Moroccan national airline, has taken a significant step to strengthen its operations this summer with the addition of a leased Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The aircraft, operated by Air Belgium, will be deployed on key routes connecting Casablanca with Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and Istanbul.

From June 14 to September 3, 2023, the A330-200 will serve Royal Air Maroc’s daily AT1702/AT1703 rotation between Casablanca-Mohammed V and Paris-CDG airports. With a configuration that accommodates 22 passengers in Business class and 240 in Economy, the aircraft aims to provide enhanced comfort and capacity for travelers on this popular route. The scheduled departure time from Morocco is set for 2:40 a.m., with arrival in Paris at 6:45 a.m. The return flight departs from France at 8:25 a.m., reaching Casablanca at 10:35 a.m.

In addition to Paris, Royal Air Maroc also operates flights from Casablanca to Orly Airport, where it faces competition from Air France, Transavia France, and TUI fly Belgium. However, the leased A330-200 will primarily serve the Paris-CDG route during the specified period.

Before commencing operations on the Casablanca-Paris route, the same A330-200 will be utilized by Royal Air Maroc in partnership with the Oneworld alliance for flights between Casablanca and Istanbul. From June 15 to 23, passengers will be able to enjoy the services of this leased aircraft on the Istanbul route. Departure from Casablanca is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., with arrival in Istanbul at 4:40 p.m. The return flight departs from Turkey at 6:10 p.m. and lands in Casablanca at 9:10 p.m.

Royal Air Maroc currently operates flights to Sabiha Gokcen Airport in Istanbul, and the Casablanca-Istanbul route is offered through a code-share agreement with Turkish Airlines, as well as with low-cost carriers Air Arabia Maroc and Pegasus Airlines.

In its continuous efforts to ensure a successful summer program, Royal Air Maroc has also secured the leasing of additional aircraft to strengthen its fleet. The airline has announced the chartering of six extra planes to meet the increased demand and provide exceptional operational efficiency and quality of service. The CEO of Royal Air Maroc, Spring Hamid Addou, emphasized the airline’s commitment to meeting customer expectations and enhancing the overall customer experience.

Furthermore, the airline has already been utilizing leased aircraft from Nouvelair Tunisie, specifically the Airbus A320, on routes connecting Agadir and Oujda with Paris-Orly Airport. This leasing arrangement will continue until mid-September 2023.

The introduction of the leased A330-200 aircraft and the chartering of additional planes reflect Royal Air Maroc’s dedication to meeting the growing demand for air travel and providing a superior travel experience for its customers. With these developments, the airline aims to ensure a successful and memorable summer season, marked by operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
