ASL Airlines France, the French carrier, is set to enhance its flight offerings to Algeria with the introduction of three new seasonal routes from Lille. These additions aim to cater to the growing demand for air travel between the Lille region and Algeria, providing travelers with more options and flexibility for their business, leisure, and family trips.
Beginning on June 26, 2023, ASL Airlines France will operate two flights per week from Lille-Lesquin Airport to Bejaïa-Abane Ramdane.
These flights, initially scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays and later transitioning to Thursdays from September, will be serviced by single-aisle Boeing 737 aircraft with a seating capacity of either 147 or 186, depending on the specific variant (-300, -700, or -800). In addition to the Bejaïa route, the airline will commence operations to Tlemcen-Messali El Hadj on Wednesdays starting from June 28 and to Sétif-Ain Arnat on Fridays from June 30. These new routes will complement the existing services between Lille and Algiers (three flights per week) and Lille and Oran (two flights per week).
ASL Airlines France will enjoy a monopoly on these three new routes, capitalizing on the strong demand for air connections to Algeria. The expansion aligns with the expectations of institutions and the Algerian community in the Lille region, as well as neighboring Belgium, further solidifying the carrier’s position as a specialist airline servicing Algeria.
Jonathan Raimbault, the Commercial and Program Director of ASL Airlines France, expressed his satisfaction with the company’s increased presence at Lille airport, stating, “These three new routes make Lille the most important airport for ASL Airlines France in terms of destinations served. We are confident that these routes will be highly successful, and we eagerly await the arrival of passengers at these new destinations.”
Marc-André Gennart, the Managing Director of Aéroport de Lille SAS, added, “Regular service to major Algerian cities from Lille has been a strong demand from both institutions and the Algerian community in our region. We are delighted to announce these three services in partnership with ASL Airlines France, starting from the end of June. This expansion completes Lille airport’s range of international destinations, meeting the identified needs of our local residents.”
ASL Airlines France’s expanded operations to Algeria from Lille will be effective from March 26 to October 28, 2023. The airline will offer a comprehensive schedule to various Algerian cities, including Algiers, Bejaïa, Annaba, Constantine, and Oran, alongside its existing routes to Morocco.
