Air Cairo, the Egyptian airline based at Cairo International Airport, has recently taken delivery of three new Embraer 190 aircraft.
This is a major milestone for the airline, which has been expanding its fleet and route network in recent years.
Delivered since December 22, 2022 via CIAF Leasing, the three 110-seat E190s are registered SU-BVG, SU-BVH and SU-BVI of the will now join a fleet of over 20 aircraft at Air Cairo, which includes a mix of Airbus and ATR planes.

In a statement, the airline’s CEO, Ahmed Adel, said that the new deliveries represent a significant investment in the future of the company. “We are very excited to welcome these new aircraft to our fleet,” Adel said.
“They will allow us to offer our passengers a more comfortable and efficient travel experience, while also enabling us to explore new opportunities in the aviation industry.”
These are the first Embraers in a fleet of four ATR 72-600s (70 seats), nine Airbus A320s (174) and nine A320neos (186).
The Embraer 190 is a medium-range jetliner with a seating capacity of up to 118 passengers. It is known for its fuel efficiency and performance, making it a popular choice among airlines around the world.
In recent years, the airline has been expanding its route network to include destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Air Cairo plans to use the new aircraft to expand its operations and serve new destinations in the region.
The first commercial flights of the E190 are scheduled every Friday from 27 January 2023 between Hurghada and Budapest-Ferenc Liszt Airport, with a second rotation scheduled for the start of the summer season.
The single aisles are also to be deployed to Catania, Milan, Naples and Rome in Italy; but also Prague, Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Skopje or Yerevan, mainly from Hurghada lines to or from Cairo, Luxor or Sharm el Sheikh are also envisaged.
