In addition to regular direct flights between Casablanca & Doha, Morocco’s national airline Royal Air Maroc will add an extra 3,000 seats (return) at a subsidized price of $450 so that fans can travel to support the Atlas Lions at the World Cup in Qatar where the event will begin in November.
Having relaunched its link between Casablanca-Mohammed V and Doha-Hamad International Airport two weeks ago, the Moroccan national airline has unveiled a special program for the transport of supporters from November 20 to December 4, 2022. During this period of the first round, and in consultation with the Ministry of Education and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Royal Air Maroc will add to its daily rotations “several additional direct flights with a total capacity of 3,000 seats at a subsidized fixed price of MAD 5,000 including tax (round trip) in Economy class”.
The offer, intended exclusively for holders of access tickets to the matches, will be offered for sale in the coming days through the commercial agencies of Royal Air Maroc, for supporters wishing to “accompany the Atlas Lions to Qatar”. These flights will be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the 787-8, and the 787-9 with a capacity of 274 and 302 seats respectively, and “offering the best conditions of comfort and safety”.
“As National Carrier, Royal Air Maroc is mobilizing, once again, to support the national team and the Moroccan supporters throughout the decisive phases of qualification for the various international competitions, as it has already done during the Russia World Cup in 2018, World Cup qualifying matches in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, and others,” said a statement from the Oneworld alliance company.
This line was inaugurated in October 2015, and RAM shares its codes with Qatar Airways, with which it had signed a strategic partnership the same year and which belongs to the same alliance.
The FIFA World Cup organizing committee had specified regulations concerning luggage, therefore, travelers are advised to bring only carry-on baggage during their trip. Economy class travelers are allowed to carry luggage not exceeding 7 kg, while business and first class are allowed to carry bags not exceeding 10 and 15 kg respectively.
