Air Arabia to Launch new Low-cost airline in Sudan

Sudanese conglomerate DAL Group and Air Arabia announced yesterday, Thursday, Sept. 22 the planned launch of – Air Arabia Sudan – a new airline that will be based at Khartoum International Airport in Sudan.

The new airline will adopt the low-cost business model operated by Air Arabia, a company based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, across its entire existing network along with “the value-added product offering operated by Air Arabia Group” on its low-cost model.

According to Air Arabia’s statement, the ticket pricing model will be “best in class and accessible to all income groups, allowing travelers to save and spend more where they want by paying only the services they want.”

“We are delighted that Air Arabia Group is partnering with DAL Group in this joint venture to launch Sudan’s new low-cost airline,” said Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohamed Al Thani, Chairman of Air Arabia. “We are confident that Air Arabia Sudan will add significant value to Sudan’s air transport sector and directly contribute to the growth of the local economy and the development of the travel and tourism sector. We thank DAL Group and the Sudanese Civil Aviation Authority for their trust, and we look forward to working hand in hand to develop the new airline, which will serve as a new value-for-money air travel option. price for the country.”

Air Arabia Sudan is expected to operate a fleet of new Airbus A320s. Air Arabia explains that “the experience of the product, from the purchase of the ticket to the punctual arrival at the destination of the trip, will be fast, practical and reliable”.

Work to secure the necessary approvals and licenses is expected to begin shortly along with more details regarding the route network, fleet size and composition, scheduled services, and other matters which are expected to be communicated in due course.

The Joint Venture will be Air Arabia’s seventh AOC (its third in North Africa). On top of the core Sharjah-based parent, the group is also a shareholder in Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, Air Arabia Maroc, Air Arabia Egypt, Armenia’s FlyArna, and the Pakistani carrier, Fly Jinnah.
