Air Cairo – the EgyptAir subsidiary has signed up for the lease of six ATR 72-600 aircraft, from Nordic Aviation Capital.
The airline currently operates a fleet of 10 A320 aircraft including six A320-200s and four A320-200Ns.
Reports indicate that the airline took delivery of its first of the six ATR72-600s on July 15 with the remaining five sets to join Air Cairo’s fleet throughout 2022.
The inducted ATRs will allow the airline to operate domestic and regional flights starting mid-July 2022 and will connect Cairo Int’l, Alexandria Borg el Arab, Aswan, Hurghada, Luxor, Marsa Alam, Sharm el Sheikh, Siwa, and Sohag.
The planned ATR72 operations are as follows as observed by Aeroroutes

Cairo – Luxor 1 weekly (10 weekly from 05SEP22)
