A passenger plane crashed on landing at Aden Adde Airport in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu today, Monday, 18th July 2022 at around 11:30 am local time.
The aircraft, a Fokker 50 belonging to Nairobi-based Jubba Airways with registration 5Y-JXN, was carrying 30 people on board including passengers and crew who have since been safely evacuated with nil casualties, according to a statement from the airline.
A dramatic footage shot near the airport shows the aircraft to have flipped over with thick black smoke rising above the crash site.

Firefighters doused the Flames and pictures from the scene show the plane, a Fokker 50, upside down.
Airport authorities said the plane, was arriving on a domestic flight from the inland city of Baidoa. There was no immediate report of any injuries or reasons given for the cause of the crash.
