Following an agreement announced by the Benin government, French airline Corsair International is due to open a new route to operate 3X-weekly from November 2022 between its base at Paris-Orly and Cotonou-Cadjehoun airport, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays by Airbus A330 -300 that can accommodate 298 or 352 passengers.

The new route between Paris and Cotonou – Benin’s largest city –  becomes the airline’s third destination in Africa after Abidjan and Bamako.

Corsair will be in direct competition with Air France on this route while Air Côte d’Ivoire, Air Senegal, Camair-Co, Royal Air Maroc, Tunisair, Brussels Airlines, and Ethiopian Airlines, Turkish Airways among others are longer alternatives.

Corsair recently resumed its line to Mali’s Bamako with three frequencies per week and switched to a daily rotation to Côte d’Ivoire all served with the Airbus A330-300 as well.

This agreement should make it possible to democratize the service of our country to offer people the possibility of traveling at a reduced cost at all times. Better still, it will now create the conditions for effective air connectivity for an influx to Benin, taking into account the massive investments made in the tourism sector,” the Beninese government said in a statement.
