AirBaltic to add New Service to Morocco, its first African Destination

AirBaltic at the launch of the Northern winter 2022/23 season plans to add a new seasonal service to Morocco, the airline announced on June 14.

Beginning October 31 this year, the Latvian carrier will offer flights between its home base Riga and Marrakech route, to be serviced with A220-300 aircraft 2 weekly flights.

Departures are scheduled on Mondays and Fridays at 7:35 a.m. to arrive at 12:05 p.m. and return flights leaving Morocco at 12:50 p.m. to land at 7:05 p.m. (flight duration 5 hours 30 mins).

This will be its first route to Morocco and its first to the African continent.

Marrakech “is the most popular city for international travelers in Morocco. It is an excellent gateway to the Atlas Mountains, and the Sahara deserts and offers many places of interest, ”the airline said in its press release.

Martin Gauss, the Managing Director of airBaltic added that “We are delighted to announce our first-ever scheduled service to Africa. As the leading airline in the Baltic countries, we continue to expand our network, adding more interesting leisure destinations also for the winter season”.

The Latvian company “continues to offer the best connectivity to and from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius as well as Tampere, connecting them to the main business centers and transit centers in Europe”.

The airline is an all-A220 operator with a current fleet of 36 A220-300s out of the 50 expected.
