DRC Bans all RwandAir Flights Amid Escalating Political Tension

DRC will restrict RwandAir flights to the country effective immediately, amid growing political tensions between Rwanda and the DRC over allegations that the Rwandan government is supporting March 23 (M23) rebels.
The decision to cut flights to Congo was taken on Friday May 27 by the Superior Council of Defense in Congo, chaired by President Félix Tshisekdi.
In the meantime, the M23 is now declared a “terrorist movement”, and therefore excluded from the Nairobi process.
RwandAir has also confirmed the flight suspension via Its social media pages.
The airline flies to Goma and Lubumbashi provinces three times a week as well as DRCs capital Kinshasa.
