To mark Africa day, UTD aviation solutions, a leading supplier of Spare Parts and MRO solutions for the African and North American markets, through its Corporate social investment directive, signed an MoU with Sport for Change Civil Society organization, Ethiopia (SFC).
The project called “Soccer for Change” is aimed at promoting mutually beneficial cooperation between UTD and SFC in the development of positive youth through soccer and using the power of soccer to serve as a bridge between Ethiopia and the USA through the promotion of cultural exchanges.
Mr. Dahir Mohammed, CEO and President, UTD Aviation Solution (UTD), and Mr. Ahadu Gebru, Founder and CEO, Sport for Change (SFC) signed the MoU virtually on behalf of their organizations on Wednesday, May 25.2022.
Dahir is a former USA Olympic football team player. He also owns a startup company called Dazza4′ s “Kick With Colors” which manufactures children’s shoes and teaches basic skills of football at an early age.
UTD is committed to supporting and facilitating opportunity in the Ethiopian and larger African labor market through the integration of Lifeskills to promote employability skills, soft skills, health, education, and women empowerment through sports.
Through the MoU, UTD and SFC will foster cooperation in the implimention of Soccer-for-Development (S4D) methodologies, its visibility, new technologies, inclusion, and institutional capacity development with different income-generating strategies and, mainly through their established networks, partnerships with the private sector, international organizations, civil society organizations, public sector, and aviation.
