As part of Air Tanzania fleet expansion plan, the Tanzanian flag carrier on 6, October took delivery of two Airbus A220-300 aircraft (msn 55130 and 55135).
The pair of arrivals joins two other units (acquired in 2018 and 2019) in the flag carrier of Tanzania’s facilities to make up a group of four A220s and a total of 11 aircraft in the airline’s fleet.
The carrier made a cumulative loss of USD 150 Million over the past 5 years, according to the country’s auditor general report with the airline hoping the new aircraft reinforcement will help in turning around its fortunes by increasing in network and rectifying the deficit cash flow.
According to planespotters.net the wings of Kilimanjaro current fleet include two Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, four Airbus A220-300s, five DHC Dash 8-400 aircraft.
