Elix Aviation has completed the delivery of leased ATR 72-600 (msn 1028) aircraft to Bestfly of Angola, the international regional aircraft leasing company confirmed today.
The latest delivery will help to offer inter-island services and will be operated by Transportes Interilhas de Cabo Verde (TICV), a scheduled and charter, passenger and cargo airline based in Praia.
“BestFly has broadened out, it is not just an Angolan company, we are now expanding regionally with intra-island flights in Cabo Verde,” said Nuno Pereira, executive director and founder of Bestfly.
“Our commitment to Cape Verde and the Cape Verdean people continues to be total with a permanent operation in the country.”
With this new delivery, Elix Aviation continues to expand its leasing and asset management services in the African market.
Bestfly has grown its operations in Angola with its fleet of ATR72-600 aircraft allowing it to capitalise on the significant growth opportunities in the region.
Bestfly is an Angolan chartered services operator based at Luanda International Airport operating chartered services from Luanda.
It secured an air operator’s certificate (AOC) from Angola’s Civil Aviation Authority on 10-Oct-2015 and commenced service operations on 13-Oct-2015.
Bestfly began flights in Cape Verde following the award of the public service contract In May this year and the withdrawal of Spanish Binter Cabo Verde, who decided to cease its operations starting on May 17th.
Binter had been the sole air operator of domestic flights in Cape Verde since September 2016. BestFLy began operating between Praia and São Vicente with a single ATR-72
