Fly Air Peace has today announced that it has become the official airline of the Nigerian National Teams after the airline and the Nigerian Football Federation signed up to a new partnership.
In an event graced by the Nigerian National Teams and the airline’s Chief executive Allen Onyema, the airline said the new sponsorship “demonstrated the patriotic spirit and commitment to the Nigerian Project.”
“Today, Air Peace became the official airline of the Nigerian National Teams as the airline and the Nigerian Football Federation put pen to paper and formalised the sponsorship . This demonstrates the patriotic spirit of our Chairman, Allen Onyema, and our commitment to the Nigerian Project. We’ve great faith in Nigerian football,” the airline announced via its social media pages.
Though terms weren’t disclosed, it’s safe to assume that it wasn’t cheap. Over the years, sports sponsorships have become a staple in the airline industry — and despite the cost, companies that value deep emotional ties with their potential customers find it worth the price of admission.
Even with a downturn as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is still a thriving part of the sport sponsorship landscape, with Handful of airlines finding it strategic along with major “powerhouses” in order to blanket their growth and enhance brand awareness within different markets.
Many teams and clubs globally are partnering with major airlines as they serve designations as “Official Airline/Official Partner” and “Airline Partner/Airline Sponsor” for many iconic sports brands.
