Following the successful addition of its pair of A330-800s to its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC), Uganda Airlines is now embarking on marketing its new product across its network.
This week on the 27 and 29th of August, travelers between Nairobi and Entebbe will have the opportunity to fly the carrier’s new wide body whose cabin features 20 full-flat, business-class beds, 28 premium-economy seats and 210 economy-class seats, totaling 258 seats.
The wide body is however being prepared to launch the Uganda Airlines long haul network with flights to Dubai first followed by London, Mumbai and Guangzhou.
The 2 Airbus A330-800s with registration 5X-NIL (msn 1977) and 5X-CRN (msn 1979) arrived in Uganda in December 2020 and January 2021, respectively.
However, due to delays in their type certification, both were grounded until August 12 and just before being certified, 5X-NIL carried out a demonstration flight to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo in South Africa.
Uganda Airlines was launched in 2019 and has been operating a fleet of four CRJ900s with flights to Burundi, Tanzania, South Africa, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Kenya, and Somalia
