Hungarian low cost carrier Wizz Air has started operating the first direct route connecting Dortmund to the African continent with flights to the popular Moroccan destination of Marrakech
Having been scheduled for an August 2020 launch, the route launch was delayed due to restrictions imposed as a result of the global pandemic. However, the route is now operational with the first flight having taken off on Wednesday, July 7.
Wizz Air, which boasts an all Airbus fleet is deploying the A320 to serve this new route twice weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays

Morocco has proven to be Africa’s prime spot for low cost airline traffic. The new Wizz Air route comes only days after Low cost airline, Ryan Air strengthened its foothold on the destination with the announcement of its third base at Agadir.
German based low cost carrier Eurowings has also launched its first route to the destination connecting Agadir and Nador to Europe
